Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 24, 2026
Introduction
Pawnote ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Pawnote mobile application (the "App").
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information, including email address and display name.
- Household information, including household names and the email addresses you invite to join your household.
- Pet information, including pet profiles, birth dates, and optional photos.
- Care history, including activity logs, routines, medications, weight entries, health notes, vaccinations, vet appointments, and related photos.
- Pet sitter information, including sitter names, sitter logs, and proof-of-care photos.
- Subscription information, including subscription status, entitlement status, and purchase identifiers needed to manage access.
Information collected automatically
- Device type, operating system, and app version.
- Crash reports, performance data, and error logs.
- Push notification tokens if you enable push notifications.
Pawnote does not sell personal information. Pawnote does not collect precise location, contacts, microphone recordings, SMS, or phone call logs.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App.
- Create and manage your account.
- Enable household sharing and sync household data.
- Send reminders and notifications with your permission.
- Support subscriptions and access control through Google Play and RevenueCat.
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these limited circumstances:
- With household members, so shared pet profiles and care history work across a household.
- With pet sitters, if you enable sitter mode during an active sitter window.
- With service providers that help operate the App, including Supabase for database and authentication, RevenueCat for subscription infrastructure, Google Play for purchases, Resend for email delivery, Cloudflare for hosting and security, and Sentry for crash reporting and diagnostics.
- For legal reasons or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Subscriptions and Payments
Subscriptions are purchased and managed through Google Play. Pawnote does not receive or store your full payment card details. We receive subscription status information, such as whether an entitlement is active, to manage access in the App.
Device Permissions
- Camera and photo access: used to take or attach pet photos, note photos, and proof-of-care photos.
- Notifications: used to deliver reminders and activity notifications.
You can control these permissions in your device settings.
Account Deletion and Data Retention
Pawnote is household-based. If you leave a household or are removed, shared household history may remain with the household.
You can request account deletion from within the App. Account deletion is scheduled, not immediate, and can currently be canceled before it finalizes. After deletion finalizes, we delete or anonymize your personal account data, but shared household history may remain visible to other household members with your attribution shown as "Deleted user" or similar.
If you cannot access the App, you can request account and associated data deletion at pawnote.app/delete-account or by emailing [email protected]. Deleting your Pawnote account does not cancel any active Google Play subscription; subscriptions must be canceled through Google Play.
You can delete many individual records in the App without deleting your account, including notes, activity entries, pet records, photos, weight entries, vaccinations, vet appointments, medications, schedules, household resources, custom activities, and household members or invites where you have permission. If you need help, visit pawnote.app/delete-data.
In limited circumstances, we may retain certain information as required by law or to prevent fraud and abuse. Any retained data is kept to the minimum necessary.
Your Choices
- You can disable notifications in device settings or in the App.
- You can sign out, export pet or household reports, and request account deletion from within the App.
- You can delete many individual records in the App, or request help at pawnote.app/delete-data.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children's Privacy
Pawnote is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
