Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 13, 2026
Who we are
Pawnote ("Pawnote," "we," "us," or "our") is an app created and operated by Drago N. Bonacich, an independent developer based in North Carolina, United States. You can reach us at [email protected].
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Pawnote governing your use of the Pawnote mobile app and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service
Pawnote is a shared pet-care tracker for households. It lets you record daily care (such as feeding, walks, water, litter, and medications), keep health records and reminders, share a household with family or roommates, and give temporary, limited access to pet sitters. Features may change, improve, or be removed over time as we develop the Service.
Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account and to purchase a subscription.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- You may sign in with email and password or with a supported third-party sign-in (such as Google). Use of those providers is also subject to their own terms.
Subscriptions, free trial, and billing
- Free trial. New accounts include a 30-day free trial with full access and no payment method required. The trial begins when your account is created.
- After the trial. When the trial ends, continued full access requires a paid subscription. Choosing a plan starts billing at that time; there is no additional free trial when you subscribe.
- Plans and prices. Pawnote offers monthly and annual subscriptions. Current prices are shown in the app before you purchase and may vary by region and over time.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel before the renewal date. Your payment method is charged through your app store account at the start of each period.
- Billing and cancellation are handled by your app store. Purchases are processed by Google Play (and any other store through which Pawnote is offered). You manage, cancel, or request refunds for your subscription through that store account, subject to the store's policies. We do not directly process card payments and generally cannot issue store refunds ourselves.
- Changes to prices or plans. We may change prices or plan offerings. Changes apply to future billing periods; where required by the store or by law, you will be notified and given the chance to cancel before a change takes effect.
Household sharing and sitter access
- Households. You can invite other people to a household. People you invite can see and contribute to that household's pets, care logs, and related information. Only invite people you trust with that information.
- Roles and access. Access within a household depends on the role assigned (for example, household owner, member, or sitter). The household owner manages membership and may remove members or transfer ownership.
- Sitters. Sitter access is time-boxed and limited to a narrow set of features for the period you set. Sitters may be required to attach proof photos when they log care. You are responsible for who you grant sitter access to and for revoking it when it is no longer needed.
Your content
- "Your content" means the information you add to Pawnote, including pet details, notes, photos, and care records.
- You keep ownership of your content. You grant Pawnote a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and the household members you share with.
- You are responsible for your content and for having the right to share it. Do not upload content that is illegal, infringes others' rights, or that you do not have permission to share.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for unlawful purposes or in violation of these Terms;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access;
- interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to reverse engineer or circumvent the security of the Service; or
- misuse household or sitter access to gain or share information without authorization.
We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or that risks harm to other users or to the Service.
Not veterinary or medical advice
Pawnote is a tracking and coordination tool. Reminders, routines, templates, and any health-related features are for your convenience only and are not veterinary, medical, or professional advice. Always rely on a qualified veterinarian for your pet's health decisions. You are responsible for your pet's care, including the timing and dosing of any medication.
Notifications and reminders
Pawnote can schedule local reminders and send notifications. Delivery depends on your device, operating system, permissions, and connectivity, and is not guaranteed. Do not rely on Pawnote as the only safeguard for time-sensitive care such as medication.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties to function, including app stores (such as Google Play), subscription infrastructure (RevenueCat), cloud hosting and database services (Supabase, Cloudflare), error monitoring (Sentry), and email delivery (Resend). Your use of the Service may be subject to those providers' terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Service availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service, and we may perform maintenance that temporarily limits access.
Account termination and data deletion
- You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account from within the app, or at pawnote.app/delete-account. Account deletion is handled as described in our Privacy Policy; some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate operational reasons, and shared household history may remain with the household.
- If you are a household owner, deleting your account may affect the household and its members; the app explains the options (such as transferring ownership) before you proceed.
- Deleting your Pawnote account does not cancel an active Google Play subscription; subscriptions must be canceled through Google Play.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
- Pawnote is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or pet-care outcomes, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
- Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or the minimum permitted by law.
Some U.S. states limit how far these disclaimers and limitations can go, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in North Carolina are the venue for any dispute that is not otherwise resolved.
